Dear Friends,
Once again, I am excited to invite you to the annual Puritan Reformed conference, August 23–25. We are delighted to be hosting our fourth event at the beautiful Prince Conference Center, located at 1800 East Beltline SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Last year’s turnout was the largest yet, with one-third attending for the first time. The response to the conference was over-whelmingly positive. Many of you said you were looking forward to coming back this year.
We feel deeply about our conference theme this year: “The Beauty and Glory of the Father.” By the grace of God, we hope to fill your mind and soul for two and a half days with this glorious theme of the Father. This year’s event will conclude our focus on each one of the Persons of the Godhead. We pray that it will confirm Charles Spurgeon’s words for every one who attends:
Nothing will so enlarge the intellect and magnify the whole soul of man as a devout, earnest, continued investigation of the whole subject of the Trinity. The proper study of the Christian is the Godhead. The highest science, the loftiest speculation, the mightiest philosophy, which can ever engage the attention of a child of God is the name, the nature, the person, the work, the doings, and the existence of the great God whom he calls the Father.
Please join us at the Puritan Reformed Conference, August 23–25. Hear some of the world’s finest speakers on one of the grandest of all subjects. Robert Murray McCheyne has pointed out that the love of a mother for her child is only surpassed by the love of God the Father for Christ the Son. However, McCheyne goes on to say, “but when a soul comes into Christ, the same love rests on that soul” (see John 17:23). Thanks be to God that sinners are loved with an infinite love, in the Father’s beloved Son!
Whether or not you are attending the conference for the first time, you will be sure to meet likeminded believers and to find encouragement in your walk with Christ. Once again, we have kept your cost of the conference well below our cost, not wanting to hinder anyone from attending. Donations to help cover our shortfall are most appreciated.
Pray for our team at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary as we prepare for another wonderful conference. Pray that God will do far more than we can ask or think (Eph. 3:20) to revive our souls over these two and half days.
As I write this in mid-January, we are about to go to press with a beautiful book, The Beauty and Glory of the Holy Spirit, containing edited versions of both Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s Spring Conference addresses, as well as those from last year’s Puritan Reformed Conference. As editor of this very important and helpful book, I know its worth. If you sign up for this year’s conference by the early registration deadline and include $15 extra, we will have a copy of this $35 book waiting for you when you arrive.
I hope to see you in August, Lord willing.
Warmly, in the Master’s service,
Joel R. Beeke
