Course Description:
Greek II is a two credit course that requires the student to apply the principles of Greek syntax to various Greek texts.  These texts were chosen specifically for the purpose of teaching the syntactical principle that applies.  Hence, this course finishes what was begun in Greek I and provides the student with the tools he will need to analyze the syntax of the Greek New Testament.  The course is also a more deductive approach using Daniel Wallace’s grammar as guide.  Students are given verses to translate and then asked to apply the principles of syntax to these verses.  There are no quizzes or exams in this class.  The student has as much time as he wishes to complete the class.

Course Objectives:
Students who complete Greek II will have been exposed to a large part of the syntax of New Testament Greek. More specifically the syntax of:

  • the tense, voice, and mood of the verb;
  • all the cases of the noun;
  • the article;
  • verbals;
  • conjunctions;
  • clauses; and
  • prepositions.
